イスラエル当局がCellcomとGolan Telecomの統合案を却下

イスラエルの移動体通信事業者であるCellcom IsraelとGolan Telecomは統合することで合意していたが、イスラエルの政府機関であるAntitrust AuthorityとMinistry of CommunicationsはCellcomとGolan Telecomの統合案を却下した。
Cellcom IsraelとGolan Telecomの両社は、Cellcom IsraelがGolan Telecomを買収して事業を統合することで合意し、関係当局からの承認を待っていた。
しかし、公正な競争環境の維持を監督するAntitrust Authorityと電気通信事業を管轄するMinistry of CommunicationsはCellcom Israelに対してCellcom IsraelとGolan Telecomの統合案を却下したことを通知している。
Cellcom Israelはイスラエルで3大移動体通信事業者に含まれる大手であり、3大移動体通信事業者はシェアが拮抗状態となっている。
一方でGolan Telecomは大手ではないものの低価格なサービスを特徴とする。
Antitrust AuthorityおよびMinistry of CommunicationsはCellcom IsraelとGolan Telecomを統合すれば公正な競争環境を維持できないと判断し、Cellcom IsraelとGolan Telecomの統合案を却下した。
Cellcom Israelは問題を解消するためにAntitrust AuthorityやMinistry of Communicationsと協議する方針を示している。
