米FCCが28GHz帯と24GHz帯の周波数オークション参加者を公表

米国の政府機関で電気通信分野などの規制を担う連邦通信委員会(Federal Communications Commission：以下、FCC)は第5世代移動通信システム(5G)向けに周波数オークションを実施することが決まっている。

周波数オークションでは5G向けにミリ波(mmWave)の28GHz帯および24GHz帯の割当を行う。

具体的な周波数範囲は28GHz帯が27.50～28.35 GHzの850MHz幅で、24GHz帯が24.25～24.45 GHzの200MHz幅および24.75～25.25 GHzの500MHz幅となる。

3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project)で5Gの要求条件を満たすために規定されたNR方式の導入を前提とすると、NR Bandでは28GHz帯はn257またはn261、24GHz帯はn258に該当する。

2018年11月14日より28GHz帯の入札を開始し、28GHz帯の入札が完了後に続けて24GHz帯の入札を実施する予定で、それに先立ち周波数オークションの参加者が公表された。
