ベトナム政府、国営通信事業者4社に半導体研究を指示

ベトナム政府は国営の通信事業者に半導体の研究を指示したことが分かった。

半導体を主要な国家産業として成長させる計画で、2030年までにベトナムを半導体の設計、パッケージング、パッケージ検査の中心地とする目標を掲げている。

そのため、ベトナム政府を代表して同国の首相がベトナムのViettel Group (軍隊工業通信グループ)、ベトナムのVietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (ベトナム郵政電気通信グループ：VNPT)、MobiFone Corporation、Global Telecommunications Corporationに半導体の研究を主導するよう指示したという。

Viettel Groupは同社の支店を通じて半導体の研究を開始しているが、Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group、MobiFone Corporation、Global Telecommunications Corporationも半導体の研究を行うことになる。

なお、Viettel Group、Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group、MobiFone Corporation、Global Telecommunications Corporation、はいずれも国営企業である。

Viettel Groupはベトナムの政府機関である国防省(Ministry of National Defence：MOD)が完全所有しており、ベトナム共産党中央軍事委員会の指導に基づき事業運営する。

Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications GroupおよびMobiFone Corporationはベトナムの政府機関である国家資本管理委員会(Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises：CMSC)が完全所有するが、外部資本の受け入れを含めた国有企業改革の対象となっている。

Global Telecommunications Corporationはベトナムの政府機関である公安省(Ministry of Public Security：MPS)が完全所有している。

MobiFone CorporationおよびGlobal Telecommunications Corporationは移動体通信事業者として携帯通信事業も行う。

Viettel Groupは同社の支店のViettel Telecom Corporation – Branch of Viettel Group、Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Groupは完全子会社でベトナムのVNPT VinaPhone Corporationを通じて移動体通信事業者として携帯通信事業を展開する。
