ベトナムで4G LTEを商用化、すべてのASEAN加盟国で4G LTEを導入

ベトナムのVietnam Post and Telecommunication Group (ベトナム郵便通信グループ：VNPT)傘下でベトナムの移動体通信事業者であるVNPT – VinaPhoneはベトナムで初めて4GとしてLTEサービスを商用化した。

VNPT – VinaPhoneがLTEサービスを商用化したことで、すべての東南アジア諸国連合(ASEAN)加盟国で商用のLTEサービスが導入されたことになる。

東南アジア諸国連合加盟国におけるLTEサービスの導入年月日と最初に導入した移動体通信事業者は下記の通りである。

2012/08/25：フィリピン Smart Communications
2012/10/26：ラオス Lao Telecommunications
2013/01/01：マレーシア Maxis
2013/05/08：タイ True Move H Universal Communication
2013/11/14：インドネシア Internux

なお、シンガポールではM1に続いてSingtel Mobile SingaporeとStarHub Mobile、フィリピンではSmart Communicationsに続いてGlobe TelecomとPLDT、ラオスではLao Telecommunicationsに続いてStar Telecom、マレーシアではMaxisに続いてCelcom Axiata、Digi Telecommunications、U Mobile、Telekom Malaysia、YTL Communications、タイではTrue Move H Universal Communicationに続いてTotal Access CommunicationとAdvanced Info Service、インドネシアではInternuxに続いてTelekomunikasi Selular、Indosat、XL Axiata、Smartfren Telecom、Hutchison 3 Indonesia、Berca Hardayaperkasa、カンボジアではSmart Axiataに続いてSouth East Asia Telecom (Cambodia)、Viettel (Cambodia)、Kingtel Communications、CamGSM、ミャンマーではOoredoo Myanmarに続いてTelenor MyanmarとMyanma Posts and Telecommunicationsが移動体通信事業者としてLTEサービスを商用化している。
