ベトナムの携帯電話事業者4者、基地局の共有で合意

ベトナムの移動体通信事業者(MNO)であるViettel Telecom Corporation – Branch of Viettel Group (以下、Viettel Telecom)、VNPT VinaPhone Corporation、MobiFone Corporation、Gmobileとして展開するGlobal Telecommunications Corporationは基地局の共有で合意した。

ベトナムの政府機関で電気通信分野などの規制を担う情報通信省(Ministry of Information and Communications：MIC)は電気通信分野の企業の通信設備などの共有を促進しており、情報通信省が発行した指令第52号では電気通信分野の企業に通信設備の共有を強化するよう求めている。

そこで、Viettel Telecom、VNPT VinaPhone Corporation、MobiFone Corporation、Global Telecommunications Corporationは基地局の共有で合意に達し、合意に基づきベトナム全土で約1,200局の基地局を共有する計画という。

基地局の共有を促進して設備投資を効率化する目的などがある。

ベトナムの移動体通信事業者はViettel Telecom、VNPT VinaPhone Corporation、MobiFone Corporation、Global Telecommunications Corporation、Vietnamobile Telecommunicationsの5者で、このうちVietnamobile Telecommunicationsを除いたすべての移動体通信事業者が基地局の共有で合意したことになる。

Viettel Telecom、VNPT VinaPhone Corporation、MobiFone Corporation、Global Telecommunications Corporationは所有する政府機関こそ異なるが、いずれもベトナム政府が完全所有する。

一方、Vietnamobile Telecommunicationsはベトナムでは唯一の外資企業から出資を受け入れている移動体通信事業者である。

なお、Viettel TelecomはベトナムのViettel Group (軍隊工業通信グループ)の従属会計単位で、法人格を持たない支店の扱いとなる。

ベトナムで最も規模が小さい移動体通信事業者であるGlobal Telecommunications Corporationは提供エリアも限定的で、VNPT VinaPhone Corporationとローミング協定を締結して国内ローミングを提供している。
